Massive Picking &
Automatic Sorting

Pick fast. Sort perfectly. Every time. Our automatic sorter runs on massive picking logic: operators collect large quantities of products from multiple warehouse areas at once, then the system automatically re-sorts every item back into its original order, cutting travel time and streamlining internal movements.

What it is

Massive picking, automatically re-sorted

The sorter is a key technology for optimising logistics flows in the fashion, luxury and lifestyle sector, and it operates within a group network of 40 distribution centres handling more than 300 million garments a year. It works on a massive picking logic: instead of collecting items one by one per order, operators pick large quantities of products from various warehouse areas at the same time, minimising travel time and streamlining internal movements.

Once picked, items are automatically re-sorted back into their original orders on the sorter itself, with every movement tracked in real time through low-level integration with our proprietary WMS.

How it works

From massive picking to automatic sorting

Six stages take products from the shelf to the correct order, fully tracked by our proprietary WMS at every step.

01

Massive picking

Operators pick large quantities of products from multiple warehouse areas at the same time, minimising travel time and streamlining internal movements.

02

Loading onto the sorter

Picked items are loaded onto mobile carts equipped with cross-belt conveyors, ready to be automatically re-sorted.

03

Automatic re-sorting

Each cross-belt activates individually, diverting every item to the correct exit chute and rebuilding the original order.

04

Flexible chute allocation

Exit points adjust dynamically in number and configuration, based on how many orders are being processed and the size of each one. Where needed, a manual or automatic pre-sorting stage further optimises exit use, keeping items from recirculating through the sorter when chutes are already at capacity.

05

WMS integration & tracking

Low-level integration with our proprietary WMS tracks every movement and adjusts chute allocation in real time, maximising machine use.

06

High-speed throughput

The system processes a very high number of items per hour, completing large volumes of orders within the same day, crucial to meet fast delivery expectations and reduce lead times for both B2B and B2C fulfilment.

Inside the hub

Built for precision, flexibility and scale

Five reasons the sorter is built into the core of a Snatt fashion, luxury and lifestyle logistics hub.

High sorting precisionExtremely fast and accurate sorting: smart data handling gets each item to the right destination quickly, improving productivity and the end customer experience.
Operational flexibilityHandles the wide variety of products, sizes and packaging typical of the lifestyle industry, from small batches to large seasonal volumes.
Greater sustainabilityLess manual handling and shorter internal travel lower energy use, supporting a smaller environmental footprint.
Scalable processesModular chute configuration expands or reconfigures quickly as volumes grow, without loss of performance.
Advanced WMS integrationDirect integration with our proprietary WMS unlocks faster, more precise decisions and stronger responsiveness to the fast-moving lifestyle market.

Technology & integration

Direct integration with our proprietary WMS

Thanks to low-level integration between the sorter and our proprietary WMS, every movement is fully tracked and controlled. This direct connection enables real-time adjustment of chute allocation, maximising machine use and improving overall productivity. Sorting fits into a wider flow design that also covers non-sortable fashion items, such as hanging garments, bags and accessories, all orchestrated end-to-end by our proprietary WMS, Logistica.Net.

Built for fashion's hectic pace

The sorter is a perfect fit for the lifestyle industry's hectic pace, where speed to market, seasonal demand and a high level of service customisation are critical competitive factors.

Integration with our WMS unlocks the full power of data: faster, more precise decisions and stronger responsiveness to the fast-moving lifestyle market.

FAQ

Massive picking and
automatic sorting, explained

What is massive picking?

Massive picking is a picking logic where, instead of collecting items one by one per order, operators pick large quantities of products from various warehouse areas at the same time, minimising travel time and streamlining internal movements.

How does the automatic sorter re-sort items back into orders?

Picked items are loaded onto mobile carts with cross-belt conveyors that activate individually, diverting each item to the correct exit chute. Exit points are flexible: their number and configuration adjust dynamically to the number of orders and the size of each one.

How fast is the automatic sorting process?

The system processes a very high number of items per hour, allowing large volumes of orders to be completed within the same day, which is crucial to meet fast delivery expectations and reduce lead times for both B2B and B2C fulfilment.

How does the sorter integrate with Snatt's WMS?

Through low-level integration between the sorter and our proprietary WMS, every movement is fully tracked and controlled, enabling real-time adjustment of chute allocation and maximising machine use.

What are the main benefits of automatic sorting?

High sorting precision, operational flexibility across products and volumes, a lower environmental footprint through reduced manual handling, scalable and modular chute configuration, and advanced integration with our proprietary WMS.

Is Snatt's automatic sorter suitable for fashion logistics providers?

Yes. It is built for fashion, luxury and lifestyle logistics providers, running on a massive picking logic with every movement tracked in real time through our proprietary WMS, Logistica.Net.

Can the sorter handle high-volume order sorting for fashion warehouses?

Yes. The system processes a very high number of items per hour, completing large volumes of orders within the same day so fashion warehouses can meet fast delivery expectations for both B2B and B2C fulfilment.
